A Luv Story Born on a Dialup ChatRoom

About our story…
My husband and I met when I was 14 and he was 13 years old
on a Sacramento Lounge chatroom on AOL 2.0 dialup at 1:30 am.
We got to chatting through email, instant messenger
and over the phone for two weeks.

We learned we were only 5 miles apart,
and decided to meet.
Skyler didn’t eat his lunch for a whole week
to save his hot lunch quarters to pay for our first date at the movies.

We were best friends instantly, soul mates.
We continued our relationship, some offs and ons,
throughout high school and ended up living together
for about a year and half right after school.

Skyler and I started to grow our separate ways,
but we never lost our young love for each other,
and nothing else compared to all the other outside noise.
I persued trade school,
he pursued being a rock star,
and we kept in touch here and there for about 5 1/2 Years.

We grew up,
I reached out to him through MySpace,
and we reconnected and just knew.
We knew that if we were to get back together,
we would seal the deal and no need to waste each other’s time
wondering if it’ll work.

We were engaged 6 months later on Skyler’s 24th birthday
around midnight where it would then turn into my 25th birthday
the very next day.
The rest is history!

Married a year later,
honeymoon baby (Owen 9 now), Grant (6) and Nora (almost 4),
and a pup.
We have had many bumps in our road,
but one thing I know I couldn’t have done it all without
my best friend by my side.
Hopefully he thinks the same
😉

He keeps me grounded and loves me unconditionally.
We hope to move forward in our careers and grow as better people,
and keep this thing going on this amazing journey called marriage.
We hope to be able to show our kids a strong foundation of family,
unity, love and commitment through thick and thin.
We want to be those people who grow old together
and watch our family grow with future generations to come,
and never blink an eye.

A Luv Story Blessing – Born on a Dialup ChatRoom

ow… Dial up modems… !!
that goes way back to the ancient vintage digital age
:-O
It’s rare to marry your high school sweetheart…
And even more enchanting
to marry your Jr. high school sweetheart.

Soul mates do attract like best friends instantly.
Even though as we grow up, we all go through many changes that
test and challenge us, confuse and confound us…
But deep in our soul lies an eternal memory
that our current mind can’t quite grasp…
Our souls remember what seems to be countless lives together
and that irresistible attraction.
So,
as we meander through this incarnation,
learning, growing and catching up
with the Wisdoms of an unseen past…
The love of Soulmates transcends the memories from
beyond the veil of our perception and find ways
to inspire a reunion of a love that has loved before.

There is something of a necessity in the saying…
“If you love something… Let it go.
If it comes back to you, it was meant to be”.

The fact is your love for each other never went away,
It was Always Already Alright!
It just takes time for conceptual analytical mind to catch up
to the irresistible love that has transcended the test of time,
and what seems like…
lifetimes.

I too had dreams of being a Rock Star…
And through my years of experience in the industry,
I learned a sure-fire way to end up with a million dollars!
It’s very easy… Start with Ten Million
:-O
Today, I’ve got the best gig in world!
I jam my guitar to the trees at the edge of endless forests on Maui
😉

Life is a journey, and along our Path there will be
ups & downs and many bumps along the way.
Heck,
if it were always perfectly blissful, we’d be in Heaven or Nirvana…
But Heaven can wait, and Nirvana is just a perspective.

We are here to grow, learn and spread Unconditional love.
Being a parent
is perhaps the most spiritual of lessons we could experience.
It is perhaps the only time or at least the first time we will
spontaneously give our love unconditionally.

We also find that Compassion arises naturally,
Equanimity develops with time
and Joy is the reward that reveals the warmth of a Heavenly Bliss
that could not have been explained to us before we had kids.

Like a ripple on the pond of life,
Your unconditional examples of
Love, Compassion, Equanimity and Joy…
Will go forth like a building wave, making the world a better place.
Long after you reach Heaven or Nirvana…
These virtuous, morals and Pono that you have given your kids,
Will continue to be expressed by your children and their children…
Forevermore… & more.

The Start of 2020

Our business was doing great, but we still couldn’t afford to buy a house or a condo. Renting in Maui for another 30 years was not an option we wanted to take. Then, Bobbie Jo suggested we buy a sailboat that is comfortable to cruise and live in. By the end of January, we started looking for our new home.

After a long search, we found our dream boat in Mazatlan, Mexico. COVID-19 was not yet a concern when our boat hunt began, but masks were starting to appear at airports by the time we flew to Mazatlan. Originally, we had planned to get the boat ready as fast as possible to cover a full calendar for the busy wedding season. However, it was apparent our business was going to tank amid the pandemic, and the struggle went on until the end of the year.

Luckily, we scored an awesome condo for only $19 a day at Mazatlan. On the 10th day of our stay, we received the news that all harbors will be closed the next Monday morning. We thought we’d be stuck in Mexico longer, but another sailor advised us to leave before sunrise.

We felt the adrenalin of escaping the Mexican harbor master just before the sun rose that faithful day. The seas were rough as waves were building up in the tight channel that led us to the open ocean. We ended up anchored off an adorable little isle just a mile offshore. We enjoyed cruising to many spectacular anchorages and cute villages on our way to Puerto Vallarta, where we would depart for Maui on May 7. On May 30, 2020, we completed our 24-day passage from Mexico to Maui.
