A Luv Story That Never Gave Up

Chris and amber met 3 years ago during a fun night out at casino,
they were both going through a lot and found comfort in each other.
His father was diagnosed with ALS and wasn’t given very long to live.
Chris stayed by his father’s side and took care of him till the day he passed.
There was little time for Chris and Amber to be together through these hard times,
but they remained on each other’s minds,
supported and concerned with one another.

Amber was going through her own battles.
She found a new life and strength through her sobriety now,
over 3 years to this date.
She had also been going through a very hard and emotional custody battle
and was drained and seemed to punish herself a lot,
believing she didn’t deserve to be happy or in a relationship
until she was whole again and regained custody of her son.

She stayed focused on this and never gave up;
some time had passed, and Amber began to lighten up on herself
and as a result to all her hard work it seemed to be paying off.

Amber and Chris had been patient and waited for each other
through these hard time.
Their love has survived a lot and has grown through the years.
Today their life is very different,
they live together with their small family.
Amber’s son Karson is with them half the time
and they have a yellow lab pup Maddux and Bengal cat Bentley.

They have proven that love has bonded them together
and will keep them together!
They plan on expanding their family with more children
and look forward to a bright beautiful future,
growing, learning, traveling , exploring by each other’s sides.

Even though ‘life is perfect’ in this Divine sense…
It doesn’t always seem to be ‘fun’…
So,
a good fun night out, 3 years ago at casino was much needed.

Everything that has happened… Had to.
Everything that we have experienced in the past,

We gain the confidence to face the future,
by overcoming the hurdles of our past.

Along with Transcending fear into Confidence…
A deeper sense of Gratitude and appreciation for all things
reveals the True Nature of our Being
It is much easier with these hard-won Wisdoms of Life to now

The Start of 2020

Our business was doing great, but we still couldn’t afford to buy a house or a condo. Renting in Maui for another 30 years was not an option we wanted to take. Then, Bobbie Jo suggested we buy a sailboat that is comfortable to cruise and live in. By the end of January, we started looking for our new home.

After a long search, we found our dream boat in Mazatlan, Mexico. COVID-19 was not yet a concern when our boat hunt began, but masks were starting to appear at airports by the time we flew to Mazatlan. Originally, we had planned to get the boat ready as fast as possible to cover a full calendar for the busy wedding season. However, it was apparent our business was going to tank amid the pandemic, and the struggle went on until the end of the year.

Luckily, we scored an awesome condo for only $19 a day at Mazatlan. On the 10th day of our stay, we received the news that all harbors will be closed the next Monday morning. We thought we’d be stuck in Mexico longer, but another sailor advised us to leave before sunrise.

We felt the adrenalin of escaping the Mexican harbor master just before the sun rose that faithful day. The seas were rough as waves were building up in the tight channel that led us to the open ocean. We ended up anchored off an adorable little isle just a mile offshore. We enjoyed cruising to many spectacular anchorages and cute villages on our way to Puerto Vallarta, where we would depart for Maui on May 7. On May 30, 2020, we completed our 24-day passage from Mexico to Maui.
