Ken and I met at work.
He says what first attracted him to me was
“she was cute as a button and fun to be with”.
What attracted me to Ken was his sense of humor
and he was laid back and easy going.
We were friends first and as we spent time together, we found that
we had a lot in common,
both of us are Christians, and family is very important to us.
Ken’s job had us transferring to new states every 3 years,
which was challenging with small children.
Ken made each move an adventure with new places to explore and new friends to meet.
We had to rely on each with no family nearby,
which made our love and appreciation for each other grow stronger.
Our goals were to have a long, loving marriage and
to raise happy, self-reliant children that people would enjoy being around.
God has blessed us with 6 children and 5 grandchildren (so far).
40 years have flown by!

A Luv Story Blessing – Cute as a Button and Fun to Be With
Meeting at work seems very sensible,
since we spend most of our waking hours there…
And yet,
I’m sure you both tried very hard to keep it professional… at first.
But the signs of unavoidable, uncontrollable unconditional love
began building as Ken soon realized Bev was indeed
‘cute as a button’, and ‘fun to be around’…
With 6 kids just over the Divine horizon…
there must have been a lot of fun to go around 😉
Bev stated that she was attracted to Ken’s sense of humor,

The necessary virtues of raising 6 kids!
Some see moving for the job a burden,
But other’s like Ken, see it as
A fun filled, all-expense paid way to really see the country.
My wife & I took our son on a 4-year sailing adventure from California to New Zealand
and all throughout the South Pacific.
I noticed that moving around so much really helped our son
see past the other kid’s issues, judged them less and
played more whole heartedly all along our journeys.
There was hardly enough time to bother with childish hang-ups.
I’m sure your kids too learned the lesson of not wasting time with the petty issues
because soon it will be time to move on.
And that’s a great lesson
that will serve them well on their life’s journeys forevermore.
I’d say you have reached your goals of having a long & loving marriage,
40 years is practically a countless eon!
And now,
as you stand here ready to sign up for another countless eon of love,
you will be Blessed with Eternal Maui Marital Bliss!
The love that started over 40 years ago has been growing exponentially
Multiplied to the power of each of your kids, and their kids,
Like a ripple on the pond of Life,
that love that sparked over 40 years ago
is indeed expanding in ever-increasing circles of unconditional love.
And long after our story here takes in the final sunset,
Your children’, children… will go on being the inspirational adults
all others will feel at home.
Just as when they were kids and moved a lot,
They must have quickly looked for
the common good qualities of the other kids.
Realizing we are inseparable from all of God’s children
is humanity’s saving Grace.
The burden of moving a lot was really a Divine Blessing.
