The Conundrums of People

There’s a good reason why dogs are man’s best friend…

The conundrums of people…

I’ve been attempting to communicate with various ‘maga’ts…

I quickly realized some are just not mentally capable of having an intelligent dialog.

Others,

The ones that seem like they should have a wee bit of cognitive depth…

I’d spend a fair amount of time outlining all the reasons not to support:

Sadistic human tragedies, pedophilias, fascism, homophobia, xenophobia and general racism…

Very oddly…

They agree all that’s is deplorable…

But

Refuse to stop supporting all those tRump agendas.

Blinders come on…

Cognitive dissonance kicks in…

And they have already normalize, legitimized and rationalized…

Why they should continue to support all the things they just acknowledged that they are naturally opposed to.

Then,

Facts, logic, reasoning, common sense, common dignity, morals, virtues…

None of these aspects can be used to get through to these mental morons.

They’ve become willfully duped, willfully ignorant, willfully brainwashed.

And

They all react in the same classic way of;

Denial, deflection and their well established ‘cognitive dissonance’ has created an impenetrable wall of jack as ignorance.

———————————–

This of course if very frustrating…

Especially since the consequences for their actions are profoundly devastating to our society, our country and the world.

They just simply refuse to acknowledge the truth of reality.

But,

This type of brick wall communication dead-ends also apply to any subject in which one has established an unwavering perspective.

Be it sports, cars, religion, of course politics, how to best educate society, how to garden…

Any subject that certain people latch onto and own…

They give up objective reasoning.

~

A metric of one’s psychological growth development is…

How well one can take the perspectives of someone else.

The definition of being ‘narcissistic’ is of course being self-centered…

They can only think of themselves.

When this narcissism runs away with another psychological issue of

‘rumination’…

The person will spend nearly every waking moment with

‘Cognitive dissonance’

in which they attempt to rationalize, normalize, and legitimize

their neurotic self-centered rants they have created

in their disturbed dysfunctional minds.

Once they create this made up ‘issue’…

Their rumination begins to plot a revenge for their imaginary ‘issue’.

If people are on the very same page of any particular ‘issue’…

Then,

They will carry on a fairly reasonable communication…

Basically just reinforcing each other’s already made-up perspectives.

But,

If one has created an ‘issue’ that is not mutually shared…

Rumination on an imaginary ‘issue’ will override common sense, dignity, respect…

And all harmony is lost…

abandoned to the chaos of neurotic rumination

that leads the psychologically challenged person to basically…

Not be cool.

Particularly if one is under the thumb of another.

If the one of higher status… and,

They have the above-mentioned psychological tendencies…

They will quickly adapt a ‘holier than thou’ attitude of supremacy.

All born from a mental disorder of creating an imaginary ‘issue’

that makes them feel like ‘the victim’.

This is their ego reaching out and taking control of the person’s sensibilities.

It won’t matter if these two people share the very same religious, or non-religious, political and creative musical perspectives…

Nothing is sacred to those that allow their mental disorders and egos rule their sensibilities.

That’s perhaps why, after 64 years…

I only have two friends…

The rest tend to gravitate towards their egos persuasions.

The Start of 2020

Our business was doing great, but we still couldn’t afford to buy a house or a condo. Renting in Maui for another 30 years was not an option we wanted to take. Then, Bobbie Jo suggested we buy a sailboat that is comfortable to cruise and live in. By the end of January, we started looking for our new home.

After a long search, we found our dream boat in Mazatlan, Mexico. COVID-19 was not yet a concern when our boat hunt began, but masks were starting to appear at airports by the time we flew to Mazatlan. Originally, we had planned to get the boat ready as fast as possible to cover a full calendar for the busy wedding season. However, it was apparent our business was going to tank amid the pandemic, and the struggle went on until the end of the year.

Luckily, we scored an awesome condo for only $19 a day at Mazatlan. On the 10th day of our stay, we received the news that all harbors will be closed the next Monday morning. We thought we’d be stuck in Mexico longer, but another sailor advised us to leave before sunrise.

We felt the adrenalin of escaping the Mexican harbor master just before the sun rose that faithful day. The seas were rough as waves were building up in the tight channel that led us to the open ocean. We ended up anchored off an adorable little isle just a mile offshore. We enjoyed cruising to many spectacular anchorages and cute villages on our way to Puerto Vallarta, where we would depart for Maui on May 7. On May 30, 2020, we completed our 24-day passage from Mexico to Maui.
