A Luv Story Based in Nature and Spirituality

Our love story and also request for a non-religious ceremony.

Ralph is basically an atheist, and I consider myself spiritual rather than religious.

We both honor nature and the seasons.

We both value gratitude and love.

In Ralph’s words, he wrote:

After a long career that demanded a huge amount of personal time,

I retired in 2011 to live a different kind of life.

Being alone for many years,

I knew I wanted to find someone to share this new life with.

I searched and searched to find that special person.

When I found Priscilla on an Internet search site

I was immediately interested in meeting her.

One of the first photos that she sent me was of

her sitting on her kitchen stove in a sexy dress.

I took that as a subliminal message of what was to come.

For five years now,

we have had a great life together and I love her so much.

I want to commit the rest of my life together with her.

She fulfills all of my dreams for a life companion,

and I want to do the same for her.

I feel so lucky that she is in my life and the wonderful exciting life ahead of us.

From Priscilla:

When meeting Ralph,

my first thought was wow those incredible blue eyes!

I thought him so handsome and loved his white hair.

Prior to meeting Ralph I was single for 10 years.

My life was good,

but I missed building a relationship with a special someone.

For the last five years that’s just what Ralph and I have done.

We’ve cooked together, traveled together and at times challenged each other.

We have created an amazing life and home, and I love him dearly.

I am committed to each day loving him and making his dreams come true.

My life is a blessing thanks to this amazing man that I’m committing fully to today.

Bobbie Jo,

I would like you to share this prayer

that I believe was written by a Native American,

for a blessing for Ralph.

May the sun bring you new energy by day,

May the moon softly restore you by night,

may the rain wash away your worries,

may the breeze blow new strength into your being.

May you walk gently through the world and know it’s beauty…
All the days of your life.

A Luv Story Blessing – Based in Nature and Spirituality

There is a growing movement away from what has been the

mainstream ‘mythic-literal’ doctrines and dogma, and

towards the inseparable connection to our natural Spirit, which is:

Always Already Alright.

You don’t need a ‘middle man’ to connect with Grace and Divinity…

You can feel this best in Nature and as the season’s change.

‘Faith based belief’, is not a

knowing, experiencing or even contemplation.

It’s more of a ‘blind faith’

that you simply take someone else’s word for what Grace and Divinity feels like.

Therefore,

as humanity evolves along towards deeper rationalism,

It just makes common sense to be an open-minded Atheist.

Besides,

no one really knows ‘God’ anyway, and even if they did,

the concepts of ‘God’ is beyond anything man can conceive …

it is ineffable… Divinity cannot be put into words.

It is better to know you don’t know something in life,

than to be fully convinced that you absolutely know something…

When you are indeed totally wrong and just believing really hard.

But that ego or faith blinds forever the Ultimate Truth.

The ineffable Wisdoms of this ‘Ultimate Truth’,

Cannot be put into words.

That which can be written or read is not the ‘Tao’.

The ‘Tao’ being not ‘God’, but the essence of ‘God’ in which is

all that “Is”.

There is a flow of Life and the Great Mystery of it all,

That flows along naturally with no need for a ‘God’ to micro-manage any of it.

God’ is not ‘God’…

it is just the word some use to attempt to describe ‘God’.

But ‘God’ is not an object that can be described,

It’s not even a concept that us in this ‘here & now’ can even conceptualize…

‘God’ can only be experienced when we dissolve the dualistic perception of

a subject, ‘me’… and the object we seek… ‘God’.

It’s best to just drop both ‘God’, with it’s deep histories of miss-perceptions,

 And the ‘me’

Just abide in the ‘One-ness’ of the experience.

Wherever and whenever ‘we’ can connect to our center, our True Being,

this Natural Spirit that is Always Already Alright and Within us,

is the Bliss that is our True Nature.

This ‘One-ness’ is the inseparable connection we have with each other…

And all that ‘Is’.

Before we find our True Love… there is often a lingering… a feeling like we are missing something.

Sure,

If we are a Spiritual Master… we can just simple breath in… and say Oomm…

Then instantly be ‘At One with it All’…

But for most of us…

We need a wee bit of inspiration.

And here’s how we can feel that inseperable connection to all that ‘Is’…

When you are close to your true love…

The world seems to slip away…

All distractions fade…

Soon,

You can’t tell where you end…

And your lover begins.

This is being “At One with each other”.

As this happens, you also become One with all that ‘Is’.

This is a taste of the non-dual Unity

that all people consciously or unconsciously aspire to.

Then…

When you happen to be physically separated…

Even 1000’s of mile apart.

Just close your eyes, and feel that love …

Allow that Loving kindness to permeate your entire being.

This experience of Love is our True Nature…

It is the ‘Ground of our Being’…

Soon,

You’ll loose track of where you end…

And where your lover begins.

We connect in this ‘non-dual’ way as we experience the change of the seasons,

The Beauty in nature, acts of kindness given or accepted…

This Bliss is experienced as Grace, Gratitude and Love.

Ralph retired in 2011 after a long career

that demanded much of his personal time,

but in life, anything worth doing, is worth doing right…

and that ‘Right Effort’ is often all consuming.

There are spiritual traditions that make a point to work hard in youth,

so that one can retire to pursue a life of leisure that allows for

the true depth of character to manifest the full creative potential we all have.

When Ralph first saw the photo of Priscilla sitting on the stove,

You must have realized that she’s so hot,

that’s the only safe place to sit

😉

Everything that has happened… Had to.

And now after a life full of everything that has happened,

You now get to experience the chapter in your Luv story,

In which you get to live happily ever after… together forevermore…

& more!

The Start of 2020

Our business was doing great, but we still couldn’t afford to buy a house or a condo. Renting in Maui for another 30 years was not an option we wanted to take. Then, Bobbie Jo suggested we buy a sailboat that is comfortable to cruise and live in. By the end of January, we started looking for our new home.

After a long search, we found our dream boat in Mazatlan, Mexico. COVID-19 was not yet a concern when our boat hunt began, but masks were starting to appear at airports by the time we flew to Mazatlan. Originally, we had planned to get the boat ready as fast as possible to cover a full calendar for the busy wedding season. However, it was apparent our business was going to tank amid the pandemic, and the struggle went on until the end of the year.

Luckily, we scored an awesome condo for only $19 a day at Mazatlan. On the 10th day of our stay, we received the news that all harbors will be closed the next Monday morning. We thought we’d be stuck in Mexico longer, but another sailor advised us to leave before sunrise.

We felt the adrenalin of escaping the Mexican harbor master just before the sun rose that faithful day. The seas were rough as waves were building up in the tight channel that led us to the open ocean. We ended up anchored off an adorable little isle just a mile offshore. We enjoyed cruising to many spectacular anchorages and cute villages on our way to Puerto Vallarta, where we would depart for Maui on May 7. On May 30, 2020, we completed our 24-day passage from Mexico to Maui.
