A Luv Story Born at a Very Small School

Our story:

We met as high school seniors at a small school

(actually, the graduation class only had 32 students) in Cambria California.

He was new to the area and my friend Jill invited the new kid

to go off campus and grab lunch with us.

Playing on the radio was Whitney Houston’s,

“I wanna dance with somebody”

and there was this instant connection …

though neither of us said anything at the time.

I had a boyfriend at the time who played baseball

and I kept score for the team so I could be at all the games.

Little did I know Cory would end up being the

starting pitcher and we had time to chat when he wasn’t playing.

Again,

neither of us admitted there was a connection.

So now it’s grad night at Disney Land and my boyfriend gets in trouble

so we get separated.

Cory and I both end up at the USA rocket ride

so we decide to ride together.

Both of us remember this but

don’t remember saying a word.

The next day my boyfriend breaks up with me.

Now it’s August and somehow Cory and his brother and Jill and I

are at the beach together and Cory and I end up having

a romantic encounter that night.

We end up only seeing each other 1 more time that summer

before we went our separate ways.

Fast forward 26 years…

a marriage for each of us and living in different countries.

Cory sends me a friend request on Facebook

and I accept and send him a message.

We email back and forth and have had an occasional call for several months.

We decided to meet up in person and he flies out to California for a week.

It was a lovely romantic week and I was sad to see him go back to Nova Scotia.

We had talked about him coming out several months later

but only after one week away he called me and said

“I have lived without you for 26 years I’m not going to do it anymore”.

He flew out 2 weeks later with only a suitcase of clothes

and we have been together ever since.

Our families and children Bre and Will my kids and Elijah, his son

are all looking forward to blending our family and

continue this romantic journey with us

and even though they don’t know the day we are getting married

they have all given us their love and blessings.

A Luv Story Blessing – Born at a Very Small School

It is so awesome to remember details from the innocents of youth,

And the song “I wanna dance with somebody” and

the wordless connection of Soulmates with that first spark

that would ignite so many years later.

Although you were keeping baseball scores…

Your old boyfriend must have been noticing

the wordless connection that ineffably attracts soulmates

as it was meant to be… Perhaps not right away,

but destiny is timeless.

This soulmate connection was so strong,

that wordlessly and without even a kiss,

he couldn’t stand to be in the way

of what was meant to be.

In the ‘Timeless wonder of it all’, life goes on…

The True Nature of our Being – Love and Bliss

are not affected by materialistic things such as age and time.

There are some very profound Spiritual insights in this expression:

“Everything that has happened… Had to. “

We learn the most from overcoming life’s challenges,

If we are mindful of these lessons,

we Transcend to Deeper Insights and Wider Wisdoms.

After 26 years of life’s ups & downs and experiencing a love

that wasn’t as deep as love should be…

a newfound sense of Appreciation, Grace and Gratitude

now spontaneously arises that clears all obstacles

and opens the door for infinite potential.

One does not need to attend a particular church

to feel the Natural Spirit that is

Always Already Alright… and within each of us.

The essence of God is within all that “Is”.

You can feel it in Nature, and you can feel it within

the cradle of your True Love’s embrace.

See the beauty in all that “Is”.

Experience the Divine Bliss of our True Nature

in the ever-present moments.

The Start of 2020

Our business was doing great, but we still couldn’t afford to buy a house or a condo. Renting in Maui for another 30 years was not an option we wanted to take. Then, Bobbie Jo suggested we buy a sailboat that is comfortable to cruise and live in. By the end of January, we started looking for our new home.

After a long search, we found our dream boat in Mazatlan, Mexico. COVID-19 was not yet a concern when our boat hunt began, but masks were starting to appear at airports by the time we flew to Mazatlan. Originally, we had planned to get the boat ready as fast as possible to cover a full calendar for the busy wedding season. However, it was apparent our business was going to tank amid the pandemic, and the struggle went on until the end of the year.

Luckily, we scored an awesome condo for only $19 a day at Mazatlan. On the 10th day of our stay, we received the news that all harbors will be closed the next Monday morning. We thought we’d be stuck in Mexico longer, but another sailor advised us to leave before sunrise.

We felt the adrenalin of escaping the Mexican harbor master just before the sun rose that faithful day. The seas were rough as waves were building up in the tight channel that led us to the open ocean. We ended up anchored off an adorable little isle just a mile offshore. We enjoyed cruising to many spectacular anchorages and cute villages on our way to Puerto Vallarta, where we would depart for Maui on May 7. On May 30, 2020, we completed our 24-day passage from Mexico to Maui.
