A Luv Story Born from Different Beliefs yet the Same Love

Michelle is spiritual, Tom is catholic.

Tom and I had no idea when we met last year in July that this is where that first meeting would lead us to. It didn’t take Michel long to come to loving me… me on the other hand? Well, let’s just say that I’m a stubborn, modern, practical woman that had to close out all of the other noises and listen to my own voice and feel what my heart knew would come and when it did come there were no elements to stop the full lives Michel and I envisioned together.

From our first date,  Tom introduced me as his girlfriend to a perfect stranger. In a safe place of my choosing, he and most of his co-workers were on site. I had no idea that there was a seminar there that day for his company and when I chose the first meeting place, he put up no objections. I’ll assume that he was hoping that everyone saw him on a date…finally. This has not been a weekend that has gone by that we have not been together since then.

In one vacation to Mexico we knew that our lives together held greater impact to everything we desired and future achievements than being apart. Two are always better than one and Jimmy made the bond stronger as a trinity.

When Tom asked me to be a part of his family, I gained not only a loving man but a son. This is finally the family I was destine for. I have no children of my own but have raised my sister’s 3. They are adults with children of their own and I am proud of who they have become and will be just as proud of the man that Joe will become. To be a part of his journey makes me as fulfilled as I was in raising my sisters children.

Tom is a Christian and his beliefs run deep. He is thankful for God putting me in his path and feels blessed that I said yes to becoming a wife and loving partner to him and a mother to Josef. They have both been alone, together for quite some time. I’m thankful that Josef is happy for his Dad and looks forward to a day when we all occupy the same space together.

I am more spiritual and when I cast my energy +

into the Universe in search for a loving man and partner,

I was not disappointed when Tom arrived.

If there are “vows” that could apply to our union

that meet both of our core beliefs, they would be as these:

We promise to encourage, support and believe in each other, to recognize our strengths,

to see our potentials especially when each of us can’t.

We promise to speak to each other and about each other with kindness and compassion

because the true essence of love at it’s very core is kindness.

We promise to love each other as much as I love ourselves because

we can never truly love each other if we can’t love ourselves.

We will never expect to complete each other.

We promise to respect each other’s boundaries and know

we will be healthier and happier for it.

We promise never to intentionally hurt each other because love is reciprocity.

We promise to listen with an open mind and open heart.

We promise to allow each of us to be our best selves and to

step back if we interfere with our well-being.

We promise to be a safe space for our secrets and vulnerabilities.

We promise to forgive each other for who we are

and to forgive each other for our flaws.

We promise to honor dreams and fears and

to understand who we are, right now in this moment.

We promise to have patience through the dark times…

Because it is always temporary.

We promise to be honest about the health of our marriage and

to always hold love and kindness for each other in our hearts.

We promise to make time for each other and never to keep score.

We promise to always choose love and if one day we realize that

the most loving choice in our marriage is to part ways,

to grow in different directions, with different experiences,

we promise to be okay with that because we love each other now

and will love each other always.

Thank you again Roger, we’re looking forward to meeting you in a few short weeks

and we’ll be reaching out to you as soon as we arrive on Maui.

Cheers –

Tom and Michelle

Michelle and Tom – Luv Story Blessing

A Luv Story Blessing Born from Different Beliefs yet the Same Love

For Michel it was love at first sight,

And so it was for Toni as well…

She just didn’t fully allow herself to realize it right away.

When ‘Knowing’… one does not need to think… that’s already been done

Mindful Spontaneous-ness is a Virtue

However, ‘Mindful’ also means to apply one’s due diligence

Something that is intrinsic in modern practical women.

With all the bombardment of life’s busy-ness and distractions,

There is an ambient noise level to be transcended to find one’s Inner Silence

Where one’s heart can be fully heard with the full realization that

no elements could stop the momentum of True Love that was manifesting

in a Divine way through Heart Mind and Soul

into an inseparable ‘at one-ness’.

Toni is blessed with a centering access to her Inner Voice,

the Sacred place we all have to find sensible insights and

to help us see the Divine Perfection in everything that ‘Is’,

also offering us boundless potential to help shape a better ‘tomorrow’ for all

Our Children and their children’s children… are –

The Great hope for a fully unified Sacred Self-Sustaining Society.

For each generation to expand their personal circles of embrace

Until the day comes that Unconditional Love, Joy, Compassion and Equanimity

Are intrinsically expressed with loving kindness to all and from all.

Toni’s experience with the saintly service of raising her sister’s 3 kids

Will be part of the essential elements to instill the virtues

that will shape the saving Grace for all of humanity.

Your personal vows included with your Luv Story are very profound

on every aspect, reflecting …a deep connection to the most profound

core virtues common to all spiritual traditions.

By appreciating each other’s core beliefs,

You will find enlightening common perspectives.

Preeminent is the connection of ‘Being at One with each other’

This will fulfill Sacred Hearts for generations to come.

It is very wise to know that one does not need to consider completing anybody.

For the True Nature of our Being is Always Already Alright… and complete.

It is universally known that one of the benefits of a strong Faith… Is,

One is also blessed with a sense of well-Being…

A feeling that no matter what comes along,

It will Always, Already be Alright.

Particularly your last vow with respect to ‘impermanence’

that reflected the sentiment of

Loving each other enough to let them go if such inspirations

would find it necessary to go towards separate horizons…

That was the vow my wife said to me right from the start of our relationship,

And that freedom soon became the ‘glue’ that kept us together,

Getting stronger each day.

There is an impermeant nature to the ‘story that is our Life’.

Knowing the impermeant parts of our ‘Life’, are not

The True Nature of our Eternal Being.

All Spiritual Traditions have in common

compelling scriptures regarding

Abiding in the Eternal place of Bliss…

They all point out that a sense of morals and virtues born from

the transcendence of our egos and reactive emotions is essential.

May you both be Blessed with the Grace of

Seeing the Perfection of all Creation

And experience the Bliss of the ever-present moment…

Thus, together Abiding in Eternal Marital Bliss.

The Start of 2020

Our business was doing great, but we still couldn’t afford to buy a house or a condo. Renting in Maui for another 30 years was not an option we wanted to take. Then, Bobbie Jo suggested we buy a sailboat that is comfortable to cruise and live in. By the end of January, we started looking for our new home.

After a long search, we found our dream boat in Mazatlan, Mexico. COVID-19 was not yet a concern when our boat hunt began, but masks were starting to appear at airports by the time we flew to Mazatlan. Originally, we had planned to get the boat ready as fast as possible to cover a full calendar for the busy wedding season. However, it was apparent our business was going to tank amid the pandemic, and the struggle went on until the end of the year.

Luckily, we scored an awesome condo for only $19 a day at Mazatlan. On the 10th day of our stay, we received the news that all harbors will be closed the next Monday morning. We thought we’d be stuck in Mexico longer, but another sailor advised us to leave before sunrise.

We felt the adrenalin of escaping the Mexican harbor master just before the sun rose that faithful day. The seas were rough as waves were building up in the tight channel that led us to the open ocean. We ended up anchored off an adorable little isle just a mile offshore. We enjoyed cruising to many spectacular anchorages and cute villages on our way to Puerto Vallarta, where we would depart for Maui on May 7. On May 30, 2020, we completed our 24-day passage from Mexico to Maui.
