A Luv Story that Her Eyes and Legs Sealed the Perfect Package

Met & started dating June 1991, instant deep connection.

I loved how he was wise beyond his years,

made me feel loved and had the best eyes I’d ever seen.

He loved how I made him feel safe and loved, and said

my eyes and legs sealed the perfect package.

1st son born June 1992, married 1st time 12/28/1993

2 more sons (1996 & 2002)

3/2011 Peter was the victim of a shooting

and was instantly paralyzed from the chest down.

He ‘coded’ 3 times but as the doctor said,

“he has 3 boys he still needs to raise.”

I stayed by his side all through recovery,

even though he said numerous times that I should leave because…

I “deserved more.”

Peter started a new medication for nerve pain…

and things changed.

He became angry… and so did I.

I left with our youngest son and moved to Oahu

to be near my support system 8/2014.

We now know it was the medication that caused his rage.

(Gabapentin rage is a real thing, we found out later),

as soon as he went off it he returned to my normal Peter.

I moved back to California, but we still lived apart.

August 2018, we decided to make ‘our story’ work.

That very day he moved back in,

and we haven’t looked back since.

I never dated in the 3 years we were apart,

I had no desire at all…. deep down I think I knew

that Peter was the only one God had planned for me to spend my life with.

Peter had briefly casually dated someone,

but he admits it was mostly just out of loneliness

and over the 3 years we were apart he asked me dozens of times

if we could be together again.

This vow renewal is important for me to show Peter that I’m in this 100%

and have no doubts, especially since

I am the one who left the relationship when we split.

It’s equally important for me that our 3 boys will be there to witness it.

We have been through so much,

but the love and devotion are still there.

Making a marriage work after a tragic event and a spinal cord injury is no joke,

but we got this!

Peter put it best though, he said it would mean “everything” to him

to be able to look at our life together and say,

“We made it!”    –   I agree!!

I thought maybe before you started the renewal ceremony,

you could say something along these lines:

“Today, your memories, hopes and dreams come together in this union of love.

This is the time for you to release the past and to forgive any grievances,

bringing only those memories, hopes and dreams to this union of your future days together,

as a couple and as a family.”

(Before the ceremony)

Pam expresses her heartfelt feelings of True Love, in these words.

“Today, your memories, hopes and dreams

Come together in this union of love.

This is the time for you to release the past and to forgive any grievances,

bringing only those memories, hopes and dreams

to this union of your future days together, as a couple and as a family.”

A Luv Story Blessing – that Her Eyes and Legs Sealed the Perfect Package

There was an instant connection back in 1991

Pam loved that Peter was wise beyond his years,

How he made her feel loved and had the best eyes she’d ever seen.

When one can see the Wisdom in another,

This is one of the connections of Soulmates.

It is not enough to just be Wise,

There must be that special one that sees the intrinsic attraction

to the Wisdom within the eyes of a Soulmate.

The eyes never lie, they are the Lens into one’s Soul.

Peter loved the way Pam made him feel safe and loved…

And her eyes & legs sealed the deal.

And yes,

those are the perfect legs…

They attach at the hips and both reach the ground…

And have carried you along ‘Life’s Path’ of challenges…

to be standing here by your man forevermore.

Think not of what one can’t do.

Be Mindful of the infinite potential of what one can do.

With the exponential family power of five…

There will always be Boundless expressions of Love and beauty

to be Witnessed and appreciated in the ‘Ever-Present’ Moments…

May this Eternal Marital Bliss fulfill the True Nature of your Being

Know that you all “Got This!” …

“You Made it”!

This vow renewal was all set to go…

But,

Unfortunately…

The groom’s health went into decline and had to cancel.

The Start of 2020

Our business was doing great, but we still couldn’t afford to buy a house or a condo. Renting in Maui for another 30 years was not an option we wanted to take. Then, Bobbie Jo suggested we buy a sailboat that is comfortable to cruise and live in. By the end of January, we started looking for our new home.

After a long search, we found our dream boat in Mazatlan, Mexico. COVID-19 was not yet a concern when our boat hunt began, but masks were starting to appear at airports by the time we flew to Mazatlan. Originally, we had planned to get the boat ready as fast as possible to cover a full calendar for the busy wedding season. However, it was apparent our business was going to tank amid the pandemic, and the struggle went on until the end of the year.

Luckily, we scored an awesome condo for only $19 a day at Mazatlan. On the 10th day of our stay, we received the news that all harbors will be closed the next Monday morning. We thought we’d be stuck in Mexico longer, but another sailor advised us to leave before sunrise.

We felt the adrenalin of escaping the Mexican harbor master just before the sun rose that faithful day. The seas were rough as waves were building up in the tight channel that led us to the open ocean. We ended up anchored off an adorable little isle just a mile offshore. We enjoyed cruising to many spectacular anchorages and cute villages on our way to Puerto Vallarta, where we would depart for Maui on May 7. On May 30, 2020, we completed our 24-day passage from Mexico to Maui.
