A Luv Story That Saved His Life

Ernest:

We met at a Legion and Lorraine was on the dance floor with a mutual friend

and I saw that and went in cut in and looked at Lorraine and said,

“who are you”?

That is our instant connection?!?!

I disappeared for a few days and finally called Lorraine and asked

if she wanted to go to the Symphony of Lights with me and shockingly,

she agreed?!?!

It was us sitting in my truck, drinking a slurppy from 7/11

and talking for hours.
We became very close quickly and to my surprise

very honest I was about my history.
I told her that I was a recovering drug addict

and Lorraine stayed by my side.

We have had our ups and downs throughout the last 10 years

but I believe we have gotten stronger together.

I have told Lorraine that she saved my life.

Something that my own kids and at the time one grandson couldn’t do…

as I was in my dark place.

Since then Lorraine has gone through a lot at work

 where I would support Lorraine

and then she would support all that I was doing with my work

as I was climbing the corporate ladder.

Lorraine also has allowed me the time and space to go school

and get my master’s degree while working,

so I wasn’t always available for her, and now I am applying for another job

that takes more of my time (CAO).

Lorraine has been my life support, cheerleader and love of my life for the past 10 years

and I am so looking forward to us spending the rest of our lives together

and learning more about each other.

Lorraine:
Here is our story:

We met 10 years ago on a dance floor introduced by a mutual friend.

Our first date was watching fireworks and talking for hours.

Although we are opposite in many ways, something kept drawing us together.

We have gone through tough times,

but have moved passed and learned from these experiences

and gotten stronger as a couple.

Now I can’t imagine my life without you.

You absolutely changed my life and with you I always feel loved and supported.

We share a love of Hawaii and I am so happy to be marrying there.

Thank you Roger I look forward to meeting you

A Luv Story Blessing That Saved His Life

Meeting on that dance floor is a true case of ‘Love at first sight’.

Ernie didn’t need to wait for his brain to think it through,

He spontaneously cut right in… the rest was… Meant to Be.

Actions from the heart have a way of manifesting in the ’now moment’.

While our monkey mind has a way to cause ‘paralysis by analysis’.

There must have been a ‘Luv potion’ in that 7/11 slurppy…

Talking heart to heart for hours…

Falling in love from the Ground of your Beings,

As opposed of just the surface only aspects

that tend to lead only to a shallow connection.

Beauty is only skin deep; the heart is much deeper…

And the soul is ineffably deeper still.

You have found that Blessing that connects your Heart, Mind, Body and Soul

Into an experience of Love that only two true loves can abide in.

Honesty right up front from the start is indeed a good investment.

In deep spirit, it is realized that we are born perfect…

Then life come along

and challenges us in ways that veils our Divine perspectives…

When we believe our monkey mind thoughts of how tough it is…

We then spiral down into a dark place and soon desperately seek a way out

with what seems to be the ‘medicine’ we need.

When all we really need is Love, Compassion, Joy and understanding.

Life is full of ups & downs…

When we overcome the challenges, we learn, grow and transcend to a

Higher, Wider, Deeper place.

These challenging experiences become the Wisdoms gained

by pushing through it with the

‘Right Mindfulness, the ‘Right Speech’, the ‘Right actions’ and ‘Right Effort’.

These virtues are some of the Noble Paths towards our creative fulfillment.

The essence of our True Nature is Bliss,

There is no material substance to our Bliss…

Therefore, it cannot be affected by materialist concerns…

Unless we let them.

Be Mindful of the ups & downs as they come & go…

See the perfection in all that “Is” and

experience your Blissful contentedness in the ever-present moment.

Do this together and you will both abide in

Eternal Maui Marital Bliss.

The Start of 2020

Our business was doing great, but we still couldn’t afford to buy a house or a condo. Renting in Maui for another 30 years was not an option we wanted to take. Then, Bobbie Jo suggested we buy a sailboat that is comfortable to cruise and live in. By the end of January, we started looking for our new home.

After a long search, we found our dream boat in Mazatlan, Mexico. COVID-19 was not yet a concern when our boat hunt began, but masks were starting to appear at airports by the time we flew to Mazatlan. Originally, we had planned to get the boat ready as fast as possible to cover a full calendar for the busy wedding season. However, it was apparent our business was going to tank amid the pandemic, and the struggle went on until the end of the year.

Luckily, we scored an awesome condo for only $19 a day at Mazatlan. On the 10th day of our stay, we received the news that all harbors will be closed the next Monday morning. We thought we’d be stuck in Mexico longer, but another sailor advised us to leave before sunrise.

We felt the adrenalin of escaping the Mexican harbor master just before the sun rose that faithful day. The seas were rough as waves were building up in the tight channel that led us to the open ocean. We ended up anchored off an adorable little isle just a mile offshore. We enjoyed cruising to many spectacular anchorages and cute villages on our way to Puerto Vallarta, where we would depart for Maui on May 7. On May 30, 2020, we completed our 24-day passage from Mexico to Maui.
