Self-Realization… the Key to World Peace

“Zenfully Quool Quotes”
By Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh

The two concentrations on emptiness and impermanence help
free us from our tendency to think that we are separate selves.
They are insights that can help us step out of the prison of our wrong views.
We have to train ourselves to sustain the insight of emptiness
while we’re looking at a person, a bird, a tree, or a rock .

It’s very different from just sitting there and speculating about emptiness.
We have to really see the nature of emptiness, of interbeing,
of impermanence, in ourselves and others.

rog note:
The world that humanity has blundered into existence
has always been one of chaos…
But even more discouraging is…
That after all the time we’ve had to evolve so far…
We seem to have De-evolved in countless social aspects.
Sure,
We take one step for the better in one area,
But then take 10 steps back in others.
The current situation in the middle east stems from
the millennia long bible battles piting one religious group against another…
Yet,
So much time has gone by that very few people currently understand
why it is that these people are killing each other… still.
It used to be in the name of their “god”… or more accurately,
how they perceive what this imaginary ‘god’ wants…
as if “god” is so limited that ‘he’ must yearn, hope, get frustrated
and demand revenge as if “he’s” an overblown ego of ‘biblical proportions’.
Now,
The only thing they know is:
You killed my dad, my dad killed your grandpa, your grandpa killed my…
Years, decades, millennia goes by…
And for a lack of fundamentally knowing that “we” are all inseparable.
In the highest sense of what ‘we’ really are,
Which is NOT our egos…

There is a a fundamental inseparableness with all beings…
We’ve had enough time to evolve to this evolutionary perspective,
Yet,
Significantly less that 1/10th of 1% of humanity has achieved this state of consciousness

and significantly less that 10% of humanity can even comprehend this perspective
and make the effort to Realize their True Self…
Awakening to Self-Realization brings about a perspective that is un-reversable.
Once far enough along this Path,
one will naturally radiate their True Nature
which is Unconditional Loving Kindness.

The divisive nature of our ego driven governments
and the misguided and closed mindedness of most religions
keep humanity from collectively
transcending to our natural higher potentials.

Be the Evolutionary!
Find that inner Peace…
And pass it on…

Unconditionally!

The Start of 2020

Our business was doing great, but we still couldn’t afford to buy a house or a condo. Renting in Maui for another 30 years was not an option we wanted to take. Then, Bobbie Jo suggested we buy a sailboat that is comfortable to cruise and live in. By the end of January, we started looking for our new home.

After a long search, we found our dream boat in Mazatlan, Mexico. COVID-19 was not yet a concern when our boat hunt began, but masks were starting to appear at airports by the time we flew to Mazatlan. Originally, we had planned to get the boat ready as fast as possible to cover a full calendar for the busy wedding season. However, it was apparent our business was going to tank amid the pandemic, and the struggle went on until the end of the year.

Luckily, we scored an awesome condo for only $19 a day at Mazatlan. On the 10th day of our stay, we received the news that all harbors will be closed the next Monday morning. We thought we’d be stuck in Mexico longer, but another sailor advised us to leave before sunrise.

We felt the adrenalin of escaping the Mexican harbor master just before the sun rose that faithful day. The seas were rough as waves were building up in the tight channel that led us to the open ocean. We ended up anchored off an adorable little isle just a mile offshore. We enjoyed cruising to many spectacular anchorages and cute villages on our way to Puerto Vallarta, where we would depart for Maui on May 7. On May 30, 2020, we completed our 24-day passage from Mexico to Maui.
