Becoming Like A ‘Virtuoso’ In Meditation – Part 2

Meditation deepens in stages.

As you begin sitting at this early stage of this current meditation,

you’re becoming more aware of the subtle nuances in the experience of any tensions, fears, or anxieties… relaxing them and just letting it all go…

Don’t sit there an pine about the past, or fret about the future.

If a thought arises, let it… notice it, then let it go.

It’s very important to simply not have a conversation with the random thoughts

that arise from our subconscious through our bio-computer-brain.

Like a computer that is made to constantly

compute, calculate, and do software checks…

We can sleep our computers…

And we can hibernate our bio-computer brains,

Or at least give them one single task, and that is

to stay with ‘one pointed awareness’.

Once you’ve ‘swept through the body’ for tensions or concerns…

Sitting with one pointed mindfulness

Sit in present moment awareness.

If a sound is heard, mentally ‘note’ it, then let it go and

go back to sitting in present moment awareness.

If a thought pops up, and they will… do the same,

mentally ‘note’ that this a thought of something that is

not occurring in the present moment, then let it go

and go back to sitting in present moment awareness.

Whatever thoughts or distractions arise, don’t follow them.

Don’t have a conversation with your thoughts.

This is where you will shift your awareness from

a broad-spectrum mindfulness

of everything that can be sensed in the present moment,

To only one object of mediation…

That is the breath.

Along one’s Spiritual Path, meditation is just one part of

the ‘Union of Mind, Body, and Soul’.

The higher states of consciousness will reveal

the un harsh-able Bliss of Realizing our True Nature.

The Awakening of this ‘Self Realization’ unfolds

a perspective of Enlightenment that can never be lost.

Even if you don’t have ambitions for full enlightenment

or to experience the higher states of consciousness…

Or

if you are simply beginning a Path towards those ambitions

and seem a long way away…

The peace and calmness in each ‘sit’ will feel like Grace

and a welcome refuge from the chaos of this crazy life filled

with the less evolved that have not learned how to

live mindfully with loving kindness and unconditional love.

Amen ~ Namaste~ Peace, Peace, Peace…

Namaste means

“My soul honors your soul. I honor the place in you where the entire universe resides. I honor the light, love, truth, beauty and peace within you, because it is also within in me. In sharing these things, we are united, we are the same, we are one”.

The Start of 2020

Our business was doing great, but we still couldn’t afford to buy a house or a condo. Renting in Maui for another 30 years was not an option we wanted to take. Then, Bobbie Jo suggested we buy a sailboat that is comfortable to cruise and live in. By the end of January, we started looking for our new home.

After a long search, we found our dream boat in Mazatlan, Mexico. COVID-19 was not yet a concern when our boat hunt began, but masks were starting to appear at airports by the time we flew to Mazatlan. Originally, we had planned to get the boat ready as fast as possible to cover a full calendar for the busy wedding season. However, it was apparent our business was going to tank amid the pandemic, and the struggle went on until the end of the year.

Luckily, we scored an awesome condo for only $19 a day at Mazatlan. On the 10th day of our stay, we received the news that all harbors will be closed the next Monday morning. We thought we’d be stuck in Mexico longer, but another sailor advised us to leave before sunrise.

We felt the adrenalin of escaping the Mexican harbor master just before the sun rose that faithful day. The seas were rough as waves were building up in the tight channel that led us to the open ocean. We ended up anchored off an adorable little isle just a mile offshore. We enjoyed cruising to many spectacular anchorages and cute villages on our way to Puerto Vallarta, where we would depart for Maui on May 7. On May 30, 2020, we completed our 24-day passage from Mexico to Maui.
