For Those New to Meditation These ‘Insights’ Will Be Inspiring

“Meditation” can cover a broad spectrum of particularities.

To some,

Meditation is accomplished when in a reverie …

just by being in a garden or out in nature.

It can also be when you simply

put your monkey minds thoughts away and just…

Be.

You can just ‘Be’ while riding a bike, swimming, kayaking, hiking…

There are many types of ‘walking meditations.’

There are ‘meditations’ just to reduce stress and or anxieties…

However,

The only one and only True ‘meditation’ practice

worth practicing for the rest of your life…

is one in which one intends to take it to

the full fruition of Enlightenment.

This Ultimate Awakening

will offer the earnest aspirant all the benefits

of every imaginable type of meditation.

At first,

It’s true…

Concentration is the first part.

There are basically ‘3 pillars’ or areas of … ‘the Practice’.

Spiritual philosophy… includes a bit of Buddhist phycology…

These are the things that one can learn with the conventional thinking mind.

Meditation – With the intention of training your mind to become ‘one-pointed’…

To stay focused with the intended ‘object’ of meditation….

Typically the breath.

Insight meditation – one Transcends the ego and goes beyond the mind.

After many months or years…

the strong effort and diligence of focused concentration….

Will eventually transcend to an ‘effortless’ flow.

These ‘flow’ states,

often called Jhana

is when one starts to ‘let go’ and surrender the materialist

‘object’ of meditation…

And then

Flow and float away with the ‘objectless’ object of meditation.

This is somewhat like…

The feeling of love, joy, bliss, some raptures…

Once this occurs,

There seems to be no effort required.

There is also no thinking going on…

And,

All references to there being a ‘self’

that we are all born and reinforced to be this imaginary ‘self’

that we refer to ourselves as being… “Us”…

This mis-perception no longer is experienced.

Taken deeper…

One becomes

“Self-Realized”. … our higher ‘Self’.

This is the only form of meditation worth investing the rest your days with.

The Buddha advises:
“by any skillful means”…

Which means,

Any way and or any tradition or combination of all traditions…

That brings you to these ‘Insights’

found in the deepest forms of meditation…

It will take you to the highest states of consciousness

a human can experience.

If you find yourself inspired to fulfill the highest forms of ‘meditation’…

The Start of 2020

Our business was doing great, but we still couldn’t afford to buy a house or a condo. Renting in Maui for another 30 years was not an option we wanted to take. Then, Bobbie Jo suggested we buy a sailboat that is comfortable to cruise and live in. By the end of January, we started looking for our new home.

After a long search, we found our dream boat in Mazatlan, Mexico. COVID-19 was not yet a concern when our boat hunt began, but masks were starting to appear at airports by the time we flew to Mazatlan. Originally, we had planned to get the boat ready as fast as possible to cover a full calendar for the busy wedding season. However, it was apparent our business was going to tank amid the pandemic, and the struggle went on until the end of the year.

Luckily, we scored an awesome condo for only $19 a day at Mazatlan. On the 10th day of our stay, we received the news that all harbors will be closed the next Monday morning. We thought we’d be stuck in Mexico longer, but another sailor advised us to leave before sunrise.

We felt the adrenalin of escaping the Mexican harbor master just before the sun rose that faithful day. The seas were rough as waves were building up in the tight channel that led us to the open ocean. We ended up anchored off an adorable little isle just a mile offshore. We enjoyed cruising to many spectacular anchorages and cute villages on our way to Puerto Vallarta, where we would depart for Maui on May 7. On May 30, 2020, we completed our 24-day passage from Mexico to Maui.
