How most organized ‘religions’ differ from an essential personal Spiritual Path and
the natural inclination to strive towards perfection in our physical ‘here & now’ concerns.
If there ever was any sort of “purpose” for our life…
Beyond the fantasies of our childhood of becoming a fireman, astronaut, a music star, or a ballerina…
That would be
To live a life free of the inherent pain & suffering
that most of us unnecessarily endure our entire life,
and…
To become Enlightened to our True Nature of Being and thus…
Know unshakably the True Nature of Reality.
This is basically what all the ‘great thinkers’ of philosophy has spent millennia
to get a better understanding of.
One should earnestly take up an essential personal Spiritual Path.
Fine tune your philosophy on life integrating as many intelligent factors as possible.
Part of this endeavor should be investigating all reasonable religions and spiritual traditions for what they all have in common. A path that inspires one to understand the True nature of their being and the Absolute realities of life along with our place in this ‘timeless wonder of it all’, while integrating Unconditional Love and a compassion for all ‘God’s’ children… i.e.
For the greater good and one’s personal growth.
What you will find is a direction worth including in your own Spiritual Path.
All general categories of religions have various ‘traditions’ and denominations which present their particular perspective in a way that makes sense to them.
Whatever religion you are in…
If you are satisfied with the general concepts and are not in a capacity to seek any other form of worship…
Then perhaps within that religion, seek a denomination that ‘holds water’ and makes sense as compared with the deep end of all other spiritual traditions.
Even Christianity, when it’s presented without the distracting political power drive doctrines in a non-dogmatic way that speaks to the true metaphorical meanings of the myths, magic, and miracles can deliver ‘salvation’ to an aspirant of True Divinity.
I was born, baptized, raised, and catechismed… a Catholic.
After being challenged with some very profound issues that went against many moral and real world rational perspectives… I had to expand my search for a deeper meaning of ‘life, my life, and how “I” fit into the ‘timeless wonder of it all’.
~ ~ ~
I was inspired to ‘Transcend… and Include’.
I have transcended the outdated mythic literal aspects of my Catholic roots, while including the real core meanings that originally was the inspiration for the establishment of Christianity.
My path has led me deeply into many spiritual traditions such as Tibetan Bon Buddhism, Dzogchen, the Buddha’s Noble Eight Fold Path along with many Buddhist philosophies, Zen, the Tao, Advaita Vedanta, Sufi… and a growing number of psychologists, philosophers and sages that help explain the ‘non-dual’ unified conscious perspectives.
One thing I’ve learned is that you know you’re on the right Path when an ineffable subject of the ‘Absolute’ is presented in various traditions that use diverse methodologies to point towards the same ineffable Truths.
For most of my life I have been earnestly looking into all the major ‘religions’ and ‘spiritual traditions’ in order to find some unified ‘Ultimate Truth’ about this ‘timeless wonder of it all’ we all are naturally drawn to.
So far, I have found,
All the organized ‘religions’ have ‘conundrums’ to any sort of reality check
or
they contradict themselves.
They all have some profound universal commonality, which is good, but,
They all have some profound doctrine that totally derails one’s faith, particularly if one is truly a ‘post-modern’ intelligent, forward thinking rational person that is not inclined to buy into taking man made up myths, magic, and miracles as the literal ‘truth’.
This ‘mythic-literal’ doctrine misses the opportunity to engage in a deeper way to teach the core principles of the scriptures without having to place absurd assumptions as a requirement to be in their church or have a chance to go to their version of ‘heaven’.
The more progressive churches that are teaching the core meanings of the scriptures are using contemporary similes and metaphors to connect deeper to a wider and growing range of people.
Countless reasonable religions have a lot of commonalities.
For starters,
they all originally included morals, virtues, being good, being honest, avoid jealousy and revenge …
And they all speak of Love…
But not necessarily ‘Unconditional’ Love.
The love they have for those that pray just like them
is pretty close to unconditional love… but
it’s based on the condition that they must think, act, and pray just like they do.
However,
those that are outside of their church or worse,
if they are outside their denomination, or even worse…
if they aren’t among any of the over 66,000 other Christian denominations…
then pity is as close to love as they’ll go.
They’ll pity your pathic disgraceful foolish worthless soul
that is on a one-way road to a place they made up called ‘hell’.
No matter how kind they are in dishing out this pity…
There is a systematic inspiration to disenfranchise anyone
that doesn’t buy into their distracting dogmas and doctrines.
It was explained to me by a diehard white American Christian
that even if there was a church of the very same dominion in another country
that our country went to war with, he told me:
“God would want me to go over there and kill them in his name for the ‘honor’ of our country… because this is “God’s” country.”
Wow!
What happened to “God” being ‘pro-life!
That must be another ‘myth’.
:-O
After experiencing so many perspectives from Christians that obviously don’t get the first thing about what their religion is supposed to be about…
And that’s Unconditional Love, morals, virtues, decency, do no harm, serve all, be humble, be loving annnndddd….
NEVER KILL SOMEONE!
Especially torturing to death over 50 to 150 million innocent people in the name of their
“all loving pro-life god”.
Christianity basically had a lot of nice moral considerations before they adopted the political power-driven ambition to combine church & state into an unstoppable military force…
Not quiet sure how so many Christians have justified all the centuries of brutal atrocities, murders, the torturing and burning alive the academicians that dare told the truth about our planet’s real position in our galaxy… all done in the name of the ‘church’ for their projection of what they imagine ‘God’ is.
All this bloodletting inspired by a ‘God’ that they say is ‘pro-life’!
And still to this day, the ‘church’ has lost its tread of being for the poor, and hungry and disenfranchised to help them find solace and salvation…
They are even more politically power driven to gain more & more power.
This is not anything close to ‘Divinity’.
Their current vision of the ‘2cd coming of Christ’ was just found guilty of raping a woman and is currently in court for his illegal payouts from campaign funds to a porn star he had sex with while his wife was pregnant with their child.
I just don’t get how those religious followers can still be duped into thinking that’s what ‘god’ wants us all to be more like!
There are lots of things in the bible that are in common with most reasonable religions…
I love the ‘Golden Rule’…
“Do onto others as you would have them do onto you. “
A much needed version of this quote is:
“Love thy enemy as you would a friend”.
If we collectively embraced these quotes that is understood to be written by Jesus…
We wouldn’t be so inclined to ‘divide & conquer’ and further make our differences more of a problem that got us to the dire state that we can no longer even try to build bridges towards just simply getting along.
While doing one’s due diligence to learn about other religions and spiritual traditions,
beware of any religions claiming that only they have the proper way to an imagined ‘heaven’ or some man made up after this life place, and anyone that does not follow these obsessed men are to be deemed “evil” and doomed to be tortured in hell for eternity by ‘the’ all loving pro-life ‘god’… after being shunned by the rest of the flock in this life.
A real deal breaker for me was the Christian demand that in order to get to ‘heaven’ you have to believe that the man made up myths, magic, and miracles are to be taken as the literal truth.
This “mythic-literal” perspective is not a leap of faith,
It’s a leap of stupid just to prove one’s depth of faith… or depth of duped.
What is infinitely waisted here is that by mis-leading the flock with ‘man made up myths’ made to be taken literally, those of rational reason, intelligent common sense, and critical thinking will see it for what it is…
And then move on…
And thus miss a golden opportunity to find peace in the ‘Absolute’.
While those that are trying to be good Christians and buying into not only the myths, magic, and miracles…
Countless biblical conspiracy theories are being indoctrinated into the mindset of the masses and at church to make the effort to be faithful, and thus be being ‘good’ by taking the same ‘blind faith’ approach to these unsubstantiated conspiracy theories that promote ultra-right-wing conservative christen political power driven agendas.
Again… that’s not real Divinity in action.
So now we’ve become a nation of mainly mentally vulnerable citizens that are being duped with any conspiracy theories that comes along with political power-drive issues to dominate the masses… and NOT with the greater good in mind.
These are typically promoted by demagogue politicians to further ‘divide & conquer’ ‘we the people’, pitting everyone against the other so they can get elected to pursue their own personal gains with the power of an elected office.
This is not real spirituality or a way to sustain our communities and work towards improving the human condition of all humanity.
Be very wary of any religion that is scrambling for political power
to achieve their political goals while forcing their misbeliefs upon others.
The Christian extremist’s embrace of the ‘end of times prophecies’
is more dangerous than any Muslim’s religious extremist’s rants
against their flaccid effectiveness in getting along with one particular ethnic group… the Jews…
NO!
The Christian’s ‘End of Times prophecies’ promote the end and annihilation of all that ‘God’ has created, killing all life and ensuring that no further life could ever have a chance on Earth for countess eon’s just so their misbelief that the ‘faithful’ can be reward for such global genocide and get to go to a ‘heaven’.
but it’s ok right? … because ‘God’ is pro-life?!
;-O
But seriously,
When a religion is politically motived…
They become weaponized and
Innocent people die by unfathomable masses.
And the quality of life just keeps spiraling downward.
This is NOT a spiritual path…
This is obstruction of everyone’s Divine Right of Free Will to strive towards perfection in both the physical ‘here & now’… and our essential, eternal True nature.
They give sermons about a ‘God in the sky’.
About a gender specific male ‘god’ is up there misogynistically micromanaging our every thought.
A ‘god’ that was invented by man to fulfill an archaic early world view of ‘the great mystery’.
It’s odd that it is currently believed that an atheist is an evil person because he does not believe in a man made up ‘sky god’.
While most Christians don’t consider themselves as evil atheists because they no longer believe in the earlier projections of ‘God’… like the volcano ‘gods’, the lightening ‘god’… or even all the many ego-personified Greek God’s.
So,
why stay stuck on this ‘sky god’ perspective?
Transcend to higher and deeper perspectives of Divinity.
Wouldn’t “God” want us to use our God given Triune Brain to become all that we can be so the quality of life improves with each generation and we can collectively move away from a life struggling with deficiencies, to a life of abundance!?! …
Once we are at this next stage of life, we’d have more time to contemplate Divinity and create a lifestyle that brings us all closer to harmony and the Divine Way.
We have the resources on this planet right now
and we have enough smart people to make it happen…
But we seem to be stuck on stupid.
Most Christians seem very afraid of dying.
Even though they are promised they will get to ‘meet their maker’,
They seem very dreadful of being judged, on ‘judgment day of death’.
And the poor Catholics that have been deceived and already lived in fear of demons under their beds and in their closets… add to the dread of being judged after death is too much for most to feel good about whatever it is that comes after this ‘here & now’.
Oddly,
True Buddhists don’t fear dying…
They fear the dread of being born again into all the man made up madness.
