A Luv Story That Started As Jr. High School Sweethearts

Keith and I were junior high sweethearts.

We are both musicians and actually did meet at band camp!

We have been married for 30 years but have been together for 37.

We both grew up in the same small town – Bozeman, Montana.

Music is a huge part of our lives.

Keith is a percussionist, and I am a flutist.

We have played on countless concerts together

as well as attended concerts of many of our favorite performers.

We have been through some difficult times like any couple

who has been together that long, but

we always knew that no matter what the issue we were facing,

the other person will always be there for us.

We have been blessed with two amazing women as our daughters

and Brynn has married her true soulmate who has become our son.

For both of us our family is the most important thing.

Our girls have blessed us daily from the moment they were born.

We both believe strongly in allowing our daughters

to find their heart’s passion and then

we have done everything within our power

to help them realize their dream.

We both have a very strong faith and believe that Jesus Christ guides us,

protects us, challenges us and loves us.

Our 30 years have not been perfect,

but we grow stronger every day because we know that

no matter what,

the other is going to be there to cheer, encourage, support,

challenge, love- whatever we need in the moment.

It’s hard to imagine that two junior high sweethearts

are celebrating 30 years of marriage.

I guess we both knew from an early age that this was right.

A Luv Story Blessing – That Started As Jr. High School Sweethearts

Wow, it’s rare to meet high school sweethearts,

But Junior High sweethearts is the Blessing of Grace Indeed!

There are many souls that wander their entire life with an empty heart…

It is a Divine Blessing to have been reunited with your Soulmate

early on in life.

When Soulmates meet,

there is an in distractible attraction…

Music was the common language that helped attract these souls…

Dori’s Heavenly flute and the primordial rhythm of Keith’s percussion…

Becoming the soundtrack of love to the tempo of their heartbeats.

Life is too big to wander through it alone.

Those so Blessed,

like Dori & Keith will always be there to

cheer, encourage, support, challenge, love

& whatever needed in the moment.

It’s of no surprise that the Blessings of meeting early in life

were of Grace,

That they both feel a very strong faith and a Deep connection to the

Christ Consciousness within that guides, protects, love us…

and even challenges us.

Even with all its ups & downs…

Life is Divinely Perfect

God did not put us here to have an easy ride,

If there were no challenges

we’d never learn and experience humbleness,

the gratefulness, Hope, Faith and Unconditional love…

and all the morals and virtues required to

Transcend the pain and suffering of this ‘here & now’

and abide in Heavenly Grace.

Like a ripple on the pond of life…

Your example of these Heavenly morals and virtues,

Will go forth, creating a building wave of Unconditional Love,

That your children’s children…

will forevermore add to its Depth and Divinity.

Today as you renew your vows,

you begin a new chapter in your Book of Love…

Entitled “Living Happily Ever After”

You both knew from a young age as you know now… That,

Everything is Always Already Alright!

And… a Marital Bliss Update!

There is more to our story!

Both our daughters and our oldest daughter’s husband were there

to witness us renewing our vows.

After the ceremony we were taking some family photos on the beach

and our oldest and her husband announced that they were expecting!

We went from newlyweds to grandparents in about 45 minutes!

And now we are blessed with a beautiful baby granddaughter!

The Start of 2020

Our business was doing great, but we still couldn’t afford to buy a house or a condo. Renting in Maui for another 30 years was not an option we wanted to take. Then, Bobbie Jo suggested we buy a sailboat that is comfortable to cruise and live in. By the end of January, we started looking for our new home.

After a long search, we found our dream boat in Mazatlan, Mexico. COVID-19 was not yet a concern when our boat hunt began, but masks were starting to appear at airports by the time we flew to Mazatlan. Originally, we had planned to get the boat ready as fast as possible to cover a full calendar for the busy wedding season. However, it was apparent our business was going to tank amid the pandemic, and the struggle went on until the end of the year.

Luckily, we scored an awesome condo for only $19 a day at Mazatlan. On the 10th day of our stay, we received the news that all harbors will be closed the next Monday morning. We thought we’d be stuck in Mexico longer, but another sailor advised us to leave before sunrise.

We felt the adrenalin of escaping the Mexican harbor master just before the sun rose that faithful day. The seas were rough as waves were building up in the tight channel that led us to the open ocean. We ended up anchored off an adorable little isle just a mile offshore. We enjoyed cruising to many spectacular anchorages and cute villages on our way to Puerto Vallarta, where we would depart for Maui on May 7. On May 30, 2020, we completed our 24-day passage from Mexico to Maui.
